The South Carolina Assistive Technology Program (SCATP) uses technology devices and services to help people with disabilities live, work, and learn more independently. We are federally funded and part of a national network of technology-related assistance programs that provide the devices that increase, maintain or improve functional capabilities.
Our mission is to enhance the independence, productivity and quality of life for all South Carolinians.
SCATP is here to help people with disabilities stay well and lead full, active lives. We provide special tools and technologies to assist them, and make every day a little easier.
Our specialists guide individuals through demonstrations of various adaptive devices to help them make informed AT purchases.
SCATP collects new and gently used medical equipment and distributes it to those in need.
The Equipment Exchange is a free online database that helps people find, give or sell used equipment.
We believe it is important to try a device in the environment where it will be used before making the decision to buy.
Professionals provide free or low-cost workshops and hands-on training on functional strategies and the latest devices.
The SCATP staff provides assistance to agencies that employ or are involved with individuals with disabilities.
